Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the use of capital punishment.

Highlights:

• Specifies that any person found guilty of first degree murder after their 18th birthday will be punished by death or by imprisonment for life without parole or any other sentence reduction (Sec.1).

• Specifies that upon conviction of first degree murder by a jury of one’s peers the superior court will have a separate hearing to determine whether the defendant should be sentenced to life in prison or capital punishment (Sec.1).

• Specifies that in order for capital punishment to be assigned as a sentence a jury must agree unanimously that the aggravating factors as established in Subsection E must outweigh the mitigating factors beyond a reasonable doubt (Sec.1).
