Vote to pass a bill that authorizes fantasy sports betting.

Highlights:

• Defines “interactive fantasy sports contest” as a game of skill (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits minors, employees and officers of registered operators, professional athletes, and individuals with nonpublic information about contests from engaging in fantasy sports betting (Sec. 1).

• Requires all fantasy sports operators to register with the state before beginning fantasy sports betting operations (Sec. 1).

• Requires fantasy sports betting websites to identify highly skilled players with an easily visible symbol by their username (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the Director of the state lottery to establish regulations and registration procedures (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes registered operators to develop contests with unlimited entries as long as these competitions comprise less than 2% of the total competitions offered (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits the use of third party scripts or software programs that allow cheating and collusion (Sec. 1).

• Requires fantasy sports betting operators to pay a tax of 15% of their earnings as well as a $50,000 annual fee (Sec. 1).
