Vote to pass a bill that establishes a state budget for fiscal years 2018 and 2019.
Appropriates $16.7 billion to the State Health Care Authority (Sec. 213).
Appropriates $1.8 billion to the state’s mental health program for community services and behavioral health organizations (Sec. 204).
Appropriates $2.2 billion to provide support for temporary assistance for needy families, cash assistance, child care, and the cost of implementing the WorkFirst program (Sec. 207)
Appropriates $605.7 million to the Department of Children, Youth, and Families for various child-welfare programs including juvenile justice and child protective services (Sec. 223).
Appropriates $27.3 billion to the Washington Traffic Safety Commission (Sec. 995).
Appropriates $1.5 billion to community and technical colleges for administration, financial aid, expanding academic departments, and job skills programs (Sec. 605)
Establishes a $14.9 billion budget for the Superintendent of Public Instruction, which includes the following allocations for education (Secs. 502 - 520):
$2.5 billion for special education programs;
$62.7 million for charter schools;
$397.9 million for transitional bilingual programs;
$551.4 million for school food service programs; and
$1 billion for pupil transportation.
Appropriates $389.8 million to the Department of Natural Resources for mining, air pollution control, forest preservation, and aquatic lands enhancement (Sec. 308).
Appropriates $127.8 million to the Department of Social and Health Services for vocational rehabilitation programs (Sec. 209).
Appropriates $183.7 million to the Administrator for the Courts for juvenile crime prevention, case management, and information technology and resources (Sec. 114).
Appropriates $278.4 million to the Office of Attorney General in order to fund various accounts including those addressing tobacco prevention and control, Medicaid fraud, public service and child rescue (Sec. 126).
