Vote to pass a bill that authorizes certain individuals to purchase and discharge fireworks in Ohio.

Highlights:

• Authorizes individuals to discharge consumer-grade fireworks anytime of the week, so long as they have the property owner’s permission and are not intoxicated (Sec. 1).

• Repeals the requirement for residents to transport fireworks out of state within 48 hours of purchasing them (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the sale of fireworks to an individual who resides in another state so long as that individual has a license or permit to manufacture or sell fireworks in their state (Sec. 1).

• Requires an individual who resides in another state who purchases fireworks in Ohio to transport the purchased fireworks out of Ohio within 48 hours (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes a county or township to restrict or prohibit the discharge of fireworks in unincorporated territories within the county or township’s boundaries (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes licensed manufacturers or wholesalers of fireworks to transfer their license from one geographic location to another within the state through an approval process with the state fire marshal (Sec. 1).
