Title: Establishes Medicaid Work Requirements
Vote to pass a bill that establishes work requirements for able-bodied recipients of Medicaid.
Requires Medicaid recipients, in order to maintain medical assistance, to participate in at least one of the following activities (Sec. 1):
Work at least 20 hour per week;
Complete at least 12 job training activities per month; or
Actively seek employment as verified by the Department of Human Services.
Requires able-bodied recipients who are least 19 years of age to verify income and compliance with above provisions biannually (Sec. 1).
Exempts individuals from the above requirements in certain circumstances including, but not limited to, the following (Sec. 1):
Individual is enrolled full time in high school;
Individual is currently receiving temporary or permanent disability benefits;
Individual is pregnant;
Individual is younger than 18 or older than 65;
Individual is primary caregiver to a dependent under the age of 6; or
Individual is experiencing a crisis or condition that prevents them from seeking employment, including domestic violence or substance addiction.
