Vote to pass a bill that prohibits slower vehicles from driving in the left lane.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a vehicle from being driven in the outermost left lane of any roadway with 2 or more lanes allowing for movement of traffic in the same direction, except when (Sec. 1):

• Overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction under the rules governing such movement;

• The right lanes of a roadway are closed to traffic which under construction or repair;

• The right lanes of the roadway are in disrepair or in an otherwise impassable or unsafe condition; or 

• A vehicle is preparing to exit the roadway on the left. 

• Prohibits a vehicle from being driven continuously in the outermost left lane of a multi-lane roadway whenever it impedes the flow of other traffic (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that any violation of the above highlights is punishable by a fine of between $5 and $50 (Sec. 1).
