Title: Authorizes Regulation of School Calendars
Vote to override a veto of a bill that authorizes school boards to regulate their academic calendars.
Requires each county board to set the start date and end date of the school year for the public schools in their county each year (Sec. 1).
Authorizes public schools under county board jurisdiction to (Sec. 1):
Be open for at least 180 days and a minimum of 1,080 school hours during a 10 month period each school year;
Be open for a minimum of 3 hours during each school day; and
Not open during weekends or holidays in order to meet the requirement of 180 days or 1,080 hours of this subsection.
