  • Specifies that individuals who suffered from sexual abuse as minors or as adults will no longer be prohibited by the 2 year statute of limitations window and will now have until their 55th birthday, or 7 years after the discovery of an injury that's the result of abuse, to pursue a lawsuit (Sec. 2-8).

  • Specifies that the “New Jersey Tort Claims Act” or any other law that may provide some form of government immunity from sexual abuse lawsuits are no longer vaild under this act (Sec. 7).

  • Establishes that this act will go into effect December 1, 2019 (Sec. 10).

  • Requires that non-profit organizations are liable for acts of negligence in the hiring, supervision, or retention of an employee, agent, or servant resulting in sexual abuse committed against a minor under the age of 18 (Sec. 5-6).
