  • Defines “sanctuary policymaker” as a state or local elected official or appointed official of a local governmental entity governing body who has voted for, allowed to be implemented, or voted against repeal or prohibition of a sanctuary policy who wilfully engages in a pattern of non-cooperation with a federal immigration agency (Sec. 2, Part I).

  • Specifies that any officer, state entity, local government entity, or law enforcement agency who violates this policy must pay a civil penalty of between $1,000-$5,000 to the state for each day that the sanctuary policy was in effect commencing October 1, 2019, or th date the sanctuary policy was first enacted, whichever is later (Sec. 2, Part III).
