A vote to pass a bill that prohibits drivers of fossil fuel-powered cars and non-charging EVs to park in front of charging stations.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a person from parking a motor vehicle within a parking space designated for charging a plug-in electric motor vehicle, unless the motor vehicle is a plug-in electric motor vehicle and that person is charging their vehicle (Sec. 3).

• Requires the owner of public or private property to install official signs that identify a parking space as a dedicated charging station, establishing that the installation operates as a waiver of any objection the owner may assert concerning enforcement of this act by a police officer (Sec. 3).

• Specifies that a person who violates this act commits a class B traffic infraction and must pay a $150 penalty and a $32 surcharge (Sec. 3).
