  • Repeals the provision requiring a person who employs a juvenile in a drug distribution scheme, to be sentenced to a term of imprisonment that includes the imposition of a minimum term which will be fixed at, or between, one-third and one-half of the sentence imposed, or 5 years, whichever is greater, during which the defendant will be ineligible for parole (Sec. 7).

  • Repeals the provision requiring a person who distributes on or within 1,000 feet of school property, to be sentenced to a term of imprisonment that includes the imposition of a minimum term which will be fixed at, or between, one-third and one-half of the sentence imposed, or 3 years, whichever is greater, during which the defendant will be ineligible for parole (Sec. 8).

  • Reduces the percentage of a minimum sentence imposition that a court imposes for a sentence of incarceration for a crime of second-degree robbery or second-degree burglary, from 85 percent to 50 percent, during which the defendant will not be eligible for parole (Sec. 13).

  • Requires this act to take effect immediately after enactment (Sec. 14).
