Vote to amend and pass a bill that authorizes hospitality taxes to be used for repairs in tourism areas affected by flood damage.

Highlights:

• Authorizes control and repair of flooding and drainage within or on tourism-related spaces (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes site preparation for items including but not limited to demolition, repair, or construction (Sec. 1).

• Requires revenues to be expended exclusively on public works projects with the intent to eliminate or mitigate the effects of recurring nuisance flooding (Sec. 2).

• Prohibits the use of revenues to pay claims or otherwise settle litigation due to the harmful impacts of flooding (Sec. 2).

• Establishes the allowance for delay of plan submission from local governments until December 31, 2021, due to the effects of COVID-19 (Sec. 3).
