Vote to pass a bill that requires student athletes to participate under sex assigned at birth.

Highlights:

 

  • Requires all intercollegiate, interscholastic, intramural, or club sports teams which are funded by public education at any level must designate their athletic team as based on only one of the following:

    • Male, men, or boys;

    • Female, women, or girls; or

    • Coed or mixed (Sec. 2).

  • Specifies that sports teams that are designated as female, women, or girls shall not be available for participation by any students of the male sex (Sec. 2).

  • Authorizes a student who has been deprived of an athletic opportunity or has suffered any direct or indirect harm as a result of a violation of the above sections to bring a cause of action against the school or institution which has violated these sections (Sec. 4).

  • Establishes the date this Act will take effect as July 1, 2021 (Sec. 6).
