Highlights:

  • Amends eligibility requirements for the early voter list to remove voters once they have failed to vote early in two consecutive primary and general elections for which a federal, state or legislative race appeared on the ballot (Sec. 1).

  • Establishes December 1st of each even-numbered year as the date by which county election officials must notify voters meeting the above requirements that they will be removed from the early voter list and specifies the steps the voter must take to remain on the list:

    • The voter must confirm, in writing, their desire to remain on the list; and

    • The voter must complete and sign the notice of removal within 30 days after it was sent to the voter and contain the voter’s address and date of birth (Sec. 1).

  • Specifies that if the above requirements are not met by the voter, the county election officials will remove the voter’s name from the early voter list after the 30 days has expired (Sec. 1).
