Title: Amends Criteria for the Adoption of an Affordable Housing Action Plan
Vote to pass a bill that amends criteria for the adoption of an affordable housing action plan.
Requires that each city with a population of over 50 thousand residents to develop an affordable housing action plan on or before January 1, 2023 (Sec. 1).
Requires that each city with a population of less than 50 thousand residents to develop an affordable housing action plan on or before January 1, 2024 (Sec. 1).
Specifies that an affordable housing action plan may be adopted within a city’s comprehensive plan or as a separate plan (Sec. 1).
Requires any city that fails to develop an affordable housing action plan to allow the following to be developed (Sec. 1):
Middle housing in all areas in the city zoned for residential use that allow for the development of detached single-family dwellings; and
A duplex on each lot or parcel zoned for residential use that allows for the development of detached single-family dwellings.
