  • Appropriates $220 million to the following programs related to wildfires, including, but limited to(Sec. 44 - 64):

    • The State Forestry Department for fire prevention and federal forest restoration;

    • The Department of State Police for patrol services, criminal investigations, famining enforcement;

    • The office of the State Fire Marshal;

    • The Department of Environmental Quality for air quality;

    • The Department of Human Services for central services; 

    • The Oregon Health Authority for health systems, health policy, and public health; and 

    • The Oregon Military Department for emergency management.

  • Defines “wildland-urban interface” as a geographic area of forestland inside a forest protection district where there exists a concentration of structures in an urban or suburban setting (Sec. 31).

  • Defines “defensible space” as a natural or human-made area in which material capable of supporting the spread of fire has been treated, cleared, or modified to slow the rate and intensity of advancing wildfire and allow space for fire suppression operations to occur (Sec. 8). 

  • Authorizes affected property owners and local governments to appeal their properties to the wildfire risk classes created by the State Forestry Department after the statewide map of wildfire risk has been published (Sec. 7).
