Vote to pass a bill that requires the Department of General Service to complete an inventory of state-owned property to determine where telecommunications companies might be able to install towers and other infrastructure.

Highlights:

• Defines “department” as the Department of General Services of the Commonwealth (Sec. 1).

• Defines “fixed broadband service” as an internet connection provided through a link to a stationary location and “mobile broadband service” as an internet connection provided through a link to locations that are not stationary (Sec. 1).

• Defines “ qualified provider” as a provider of a mobile broadband service that has obtained all governmental approvals required for the provision of fixed broadband service in an underserved or unserved area (Sec. 1).

• Defines “underserved area” as an area in the commonwealth with limited access to fixed or mobile broadband services and “unserved area” as an area in the commonwealth that does not have access to fixed broadband services or mobile broadband services (Sec. 1).
