Vote to pass a bill that requires manufacturers to pay "full compensation for diagnostic work, as well as repair service, labor, and parts" and that time allowances for the diagnosis and repair will be "no less than charged to retail customers for the same work."

Highlights:

• Requires that manufacturers pay each dealer no less than the amount the retail customer pays for the same services concerning rate and time (Sec. 6).

• Specifies that any time guide previously agreed to by the manufacturer and the dealer for extended warranties repairs may be used instead of actual time expended (Sec. 6).

• Prohibits any warranty or factory compensated repairs from being excluded from the aforementioned requirements (Sec. 6).

• Prohibits manufacturers from establishing restrictions or limitations of customer repair frequency due to failure rate indexes or national failure averages (Sec. 6).

• Prohibits manufacturers from issuing a debit reduction or charger back of any item on a warranty repair order absent a finding of fraud or illegal action by the dealer (Sec. 6).
