Vote to pass a bill that establishes a defense to prosecution for a person who operates a vehicle with marijuana or its metabolite in the person's blood under certain conditions.

Highlights:

• Establishes the following defense for an individual accused of operating a vehicle under a controlled substance, including, (Sec. 1):

• The accused individual consumed the controlled substance in accordance with a valid prescription order; or

• The:

• Controlled substance was marijuana or a metabolite of marijuana;

• The individual was not intoxicated;

• The individual did not cause a traffic accident; and

• Substance was identified by means of a chemical test.
