Title: Amends State Congressional Districts
Establishes that, based on the 2020 Census of Population, the State of Nebraska is divided into three districts for electing Representatives in the Congress of the United States (Sec. 1).
Authorizes each district to elect one representative (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the numbers and boundaries of the districts are designated and established by maps identified and labeled as maps (Sec. 1):
CONG21-39002;
CONG21-39002-1;
CONG21-39002-2; and
CONG21-39002-3.
Authorizes the Clerk of the Legislature to transfer possession of the maps to the Secretary of State on the effective date of this act (Sec. 1).
Establishes that when questions of interpretation of district boundaries arise, the maps shall serve as the indication of the legislative intent in drawing the district boundaries (Sec. 1).
Authorizes each election commissioner or county clerk to obtain copies of the maps for the election commissioner's or clerk's county from the Secretary of State (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the Secretary of State to have the maps identifying the boundaries for the districts available for viewing on his or her website (Sec. 1).
Establishes that the Legislature adopts the official population figures and maps from the 2020 Census Redistricting TIGER/Line Shapefiles published by the United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census.
Authorizes the repeal of the original sections 32-504 and 32-505 (Sec. 3).
Authorizes this act to take effect when passed and approved according to law (Sec. 4).
