Title: Combating International Islamophobia Act
Vote to pass a bill that establishes within the Department of State the Office to Monitor and Combat Islamophobia and addresses related issues.
Authorizes the Secretary of State to establish within the Department of State the Office to Monitor and Combat Islamophobia and addresses related issues (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the aforementioned office shall establish the Special Envoy to monitor and combat acts of Islamophobia and Islamophobic incitement in foreign counties (Sec. 2).
Requires the office provide annual reports to Congress about human rights and religious freedom in foreign countries and specifies that the report shall include information about (Sec. 2):
Acts of physical violence or harassment of Muslim people;
Instances of propaganda in government and nongovernment media that attempt to justify or promote hatred or incite violence against Muslim people; and
Actions taken by a country’s government to respond to such acts.
Prohibits any funds made available by this act from being used to (Sec.2):
promote or endorse a boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement ideology against Israel or Israel-related individuals or organizations; or
Promote or endorse a Muslim ban.
