Highlights:

• Prohibits academic institutions from inquiring about an applicant’s criminal history, unless an offense of stalking or sexual offense (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes an academic institution to inquire about a student’s criminal history after admitted only when (Sec. 1):

• Offering supportive services;

• Making decisions relative to the student’s participation in campus life;

• Making decisions about financial aid or housing relevant to a student’s criminal conviction; or

• The applicant applies to a program in which criminal history information is disclosed to the state as part of the licensing process.
