Title: Prohibits Teaching "Divisive Concepts" Such as Systematic Racism
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits teaching subjects on "divisive concepts" such as the existence of systematic racism in public school.
Prohibits teaching subjects on "divisive concepts" in public school (Sec. 1).
Defines “devisive concepts” as any concept espousing the following, including (Sec. 1):
That one race or ethnicity is inherently superior to another race or ethnicicty;
The United states of America and the State of Georgia are fundamentall or systematically racist;
An individual, solely because of their skin color or ethnicity is inherently racist or oppressive whether consciously or subconsciously;
An individual should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment solelcy or partly because because of their race, skin color, or ethnicity;
An individual’s moral character is inherently determined by their race, skin color, or ethnicity;
An individual because of their race, skin color, or ethnicity bears responsibility for actions commited by other individuals of the same race, skin color, or ethnicity past or present;
An individual should feel demeaned or guilt by a teacher because of their race, skin color, or ethnicity;
Performance based on advancement or traits such as hard work ethic are racist or were created by individuals of a particular race to oppress individuals of another; or
Any form of race or ethnic scapegoating or race or ethnic stereotyping.
Requires that no later than August 1, 2022 each local school board of education adopt complaint resolution policies to address parental complaints regarding any alleged aforementioned violations but specifies that a school or local school system shall not be required to respond (Sec. 1).
