Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that establishes new service requirements for department of social and health services.

Highlights:

• Prohibits “punitive measures” against individuals attempting to contact or access community service offices (Sec. 1).

• Establishes minimum service expectations and requirements for such offices (e.g. must remain open for walk-in services during business hours, must maintain telephonic access with reduced wait times) (Sec. 2).

• Establishes protocol for when “cash and food assistance applicant or recipient is negatively affected by excessive call wait times, dropped calls, or community services division office closures during normal business hours” (Sec. 2).
