Title: Repeals "Red Flag" Gun Law

    • released from commitment within 5 years of trying to obtain the permit or;

    • Who have been convicted of two or more misdemeanors within the past 5 years or;

    • Addicted to the unlawful use or distribution of marijuana or any controlled substance or;

    • Convicted of a violation of public drunkenness, assault, or stalking or;

    • Who are aliens lawfully permitted to live in the United States or;

    • Who have been discharged from the military due to dishonorable discharge or;

    • Who have received mental health or substance abuse treatment within 5 years of trying to obtain the permit.

  • Establishes that any individual who sells, barters, or gives a firearm to any person who they know is prohibited from possessing such a handgun is guilty of a Class 4 felony (Pg. 2).

  • Requires that a criminal background check must be done on employees of gun dealers in order to transfer firearms (Pg. 7).
