Title: Limits Amount of Farmland Foreign Countries Can Own
Vote to pass a bill that limits the amount of farmland foreign countries are allowed to own in the state.
Prohibits any foreign business, whose controlling interest is owned by an individual who is a citizen of a restrictive country from purchasing any land in the state (Sec. A).
Defines “restrictive country” as the following countries, including (Sec. A):
China;
Iran;
North Korea;
Russia; and
Venezuela.
Requires the governor to, in consultation with the state homeland security advisory council, review and update the list of restrictive countries every 2 years, or as often as the national security relationship between the U.S. and restrictive countries changes (Sec. A).
