Title: Classifies Illegal Voting as a Felony
Vote to pass a bill that would classify illegal voting as a felony.
Classifies illegal voting as a second degree felony (Sec. 1).
Specifies that if the person is convicted of attempted illegal voting it becomes a state jail felony (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the law enacted in this bill only applies to offenses committed on or after the effective date of this bill (Sec. 1).
Specifies that illegal voting includes (Sec. 1):
Intentionally and knowingly voting in an election when there is a particular situation making that person ineligible to vote;
Attempting to vote twice in one election;
Voting on another person's ballot;
Marking another person’s ballot without their consent or specific direction from that other person; and
Voting or attempting to vote in two states in the same election on the same day.
