Highlights:

• Requires an armed school resource officer (SRO) by the following school year for schools that have a 25 percent incident arrest rate record per 100 reported incidents (Sec. 1).

• Amends the definition for incidents to include incidents related to (Sec. 1):

• Homicide;

• Sexual assault;

• Burglary, robbery, or theft;

• Battery, substantial batter, or aggravated batter;

• Arson; 

• Use or possession of alcohol, or controlled substance;

• Possession of a firearm; or

• A violation related to disorderly conduct.

• Establishes that this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 1).
