Title: Limits the Scope of the Post-Secondary Career Initiatives Plan
Vote to pass a bill that limits the scope of the post-secondary career initiatives plan.
Requires the Idaho launch Post-Secondary Career Initiatives Plan provide annual reports to the appropriate legislative committee for oversight on an annual basis by january of each year (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the aforementioned report to the legislature shall cover sufficient data regarding the following, including the (Sec. 4):
Number and demographics of eligbile students applying for grants;
Number and type of eligible institutions approved by the council;
List of in-demand careers prioritized by the council;
Number of grants awarded and demographics of participants; and
Data to demonstrate the effectiveness of the program.
Appropriates between $60-70 million for the initial costs for the Idaho Launch In-Demand Careers fund for Idaho state graduates (Sec. 1).
Prohibits the council from reimbursing more than 80% or $8,000 of the program’s total tuition and fees whichever is less (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the provisions in this bill shall be in effect beginning July 1, 2023 and be null and void and no longer in force after July 1, 2029 (Sec. 2-6).
