Title: Amends Commerce Laws Regarding Remote Work

Vote to pass a bill that amends commerce laws regarding remote work.

Highlights:

  • Prohibits the commissioner of Financial Institutions form requiring an applicant for a license to establish a new depository institution to identify the physical address of the proposed depository institution in the application for the license for work (Sec. 1). 

  • Authorizes certain persons employed by financial institutions to temporarily delay certain financial transactions involving the suspected exploitation of an older person or other vulnerable individual (Sec. 1). 

  • Exempts certain persons from liability for certain actions relating to the suspected exploitation of an older person or vulnerable person (Sec. 1). 

  • Authorizes certain persons to perform certain work from a remote location under certain circumstances (Sec. 1). 

  • Establishes certain requirements from individuals who are working from home (Sec. 1). 

  • Requires individuals in the lending business in the state to provide notice to the Attorney General of the state about breaches in security online involving personal information (Sec. 1). 

  • Restructures the circumstances and situations under which a person is not required to accept an acknowledged power of attorney (Sec. 1). 

  • Prohibits deceptive service agreements between an owner of a residential property and a service provider (Sec. 1). 

  • Restructures provisions governing persons who hold a permit to engage in property management (Sec. 1).

  • revising the method by which a collection agency must notify a medical debtor before taking any action to collect a medical debt (Sec. 1). 

  • Authorizes penalties for violations of this act (Sec. 1).
