Title: Establishes Cash Bail in the State Constitution
Vote to pass a bill that establishes cash bail in the state constitution.
Authorizes bail to be imposed at or after the initial court appearance only upon a finding by the court that there is a reasonable basis to believe that bail is necessary to assure the defendant's appearance in court (Sec. 5).
Prohibits the bail amount imposed after a finding of reasonable basis that it is necessary to assure the defendant appears in court from being excessive (Sec. 7).
