• Repeals the conceal carry permitting process requirements in the state of Louisiana (Sec. 1).

• Requires the Department of Safety and Corrections, office of state police provide a 2 hour and 15 minute long online handgun education course at no cost to state residents that includes the following, (Sec. 1):

• Handling procedures for a revolver and semiautomatic pistol;

• Accident prevention, and safe storage of firearms; and

• Suicide prevention, with emphasis on the impact of firearm-related suicides.

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 1).
