Title: Prohibits Gender Affirming Care for Minors

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits gender affirming care for minors.

Highlights:

  • Prohibits health care providers from providing gender affirming care for minors under 18 years of age (Sec. 1).

  • Exempts the following situations from the aforementioned prohibitions, including (Sec. 1):

    • Minors born with a medically verifiable genetic disorder of sex development;

    • The treatment of any infection, injury, disease, or disorder that has been casued by a gender transition procedure; or

    • Any procedure undertaken due to the minor suffering from a physical disorder, injury, or illness that has or will place the minor in imminent danger of death or impairment of a major bodily function.

  • Requires the Board of Nusing, Medical Examining Board, and the Physician Assistant Affiliated Credentialing Board investigate any allegation of supposed violation and upon confirmation of evidence revoke the health care providers official license or certificate (Sec. 2).

  • Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect 7 months after passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 10).
