Title: Requires Broad Financial Disclosure for State Candidates for Public Office
Vote to pass a bill that requires broad financial disclosure for state candidates for public office.
Requires broad financial disclosure for state candidates for office running in Michigan (Sec. 3).
Defines “candidate for office” as a candidate of any of the following offices who is subject to the Michigan campaign finance act of 1976, and whose candidate committee received or expended more than $1,000 during the election cycle (Sec. 3):
Governor;
Lieutenant governor;
Attorney general
State representative; or
State senator.
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall not take effect unless S.B. 613 is passed and signed into law by the governor as well (Sec. 15).
