Title: Expands Laws Pertaining to Theft
Vote to pass a bill that expands laws relating to theft and retail theft in the state of Arizona.
Establishes that a person with the intent to deprive an adult of their property has committed theft if the person knowingly takes control of a vulnerable adults property while acting in the position of trust (Sec. 1)
Requires the court to preserve nay trade secret that is admitted in evidence relating to the trade secret (Sec. 1).
Specifies that theft of property or services with a value of $25,000 or more as a class 2 felony (Sec. 1).
Defines that theft of a property or service with a value of $4,000 or more, but less than $25,000 as a class 3 felony (Sec. 1).
Establishes that theft of a property or service with a value of $3,000, but not more than $4,000 as a class 4 felony (Sec. 1).
Requires theft of property or services with a value over $2,000, but not more than $3,000 to be qualified as a class 5 felony (Sec. 1).
Prohibits the suspension of sentences, probation, pardons or release from confinement if the property involved is of a value of $100,000 (Sec. 1).
Establishes that possession of scrap metal unless explained or sold in the ordinary course of business by an automotive recycler as a class 5 felony (Sec. 1).
