Title: Requires Health Benefit Plans to to Cover Prescription Contraception for a 6-Month Supply
Vote to pass a bill to require health benefit plans to cover prescription contraception for a 6-month supply in the state of Idaho.
Requires reimbursements for prescription contraception intended to last 6 months obtained at one time by the enrollee unless no prescription contraceptive has previously been prescribed to the enrollee (Sec. 1).
Authorizes reimbursement to be given for prescription contraception if the enrollee requests a smaller supply or the prescribing provider instructs that the enrollee must receive a smaller supply (Sec. 1).
Establishes the enrollees may receive prescription contraception on-site at the prescribing provider's office (Sec. 1).
Requires all dispensing practices to follow clinical guidelines for appropriate prescribing and dispensing to ensure the health of the patient (Sec. 1).
Prohibits this act from being construed to require a health benefit plan or student health benefit plan to provide reimbursement for drugs, devices, or products intended to induce an abortion (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the act to take effect on July 1, 2024 (Sec. 1).
