Title: Amends State-Paid Family Leave Law
Vote to pass a bill that amends state-paid family leave law in Minnesota.
Amends state-paid family leave laws in Minnesota and increases state tax rates to 0.88% (Sec. 1-50).
Establishes a family and medical insurance account modeled after the state’s unemployment insurance fund, including being funded from a 0.7% payroll tax on an employee’s wages, at least half of which must be paid by the employer (Sec. 1-50).
Requires that the premium rate for employers having 30 or fewer employees be 75% of the annual premium rate calculated each year for larger employers (Sec. 1-50).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 51).
