Title: Prohibits Public Airports from Contracting with a Private Third Party to Provide Expedited Security Checkpoints

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits public airports from contracting with a private third party to provide expedited security checkpoints unless the third party has obtained security lanes from the Transportation Security Administration

Highlights:

  • Prohibits public airports that provide commercial services from entering agreements that allow third party vendors to provide expedited security screening in the standard or TSA Precheck lanes (Sec. 1).  

  • Exempts agreements entered before January 1, 2025 (Sec. 1). 

  • Exempts agreements between third party vendors and public airports that obtained dedicated TSA security lanes for that third party vendor specifically (Sec. 1B). 

  • Specifies that airlines under Part 121 of Title 14 are not third party vendors therefore this section above does not apply (Sec. 1C). 

  • Exempts any reimbursement under this act (Sec. 2).
