Vote to pass a bill that creates a “clean election fund” to finance state legislative campaigns.

Highlights:

-Requires a candidate to refrain from accepting outside contributions in excess of $1,500 during the qualifying period before being certified as a 'clean candidate' [sec. 1]. -Requires candidates to acquire contributions of at least $5 from a minimum of 150 electors in their district in order to qualify for certification [sec. 1]. -Grants $10,000 to candidates who meet all requirements for certification as a clean election candidate [sec. 1]. -Forbids approved clean election candidates from accepting donations from outside of the clean election fund without state approval [sec. 1] -Should one candidate's funds exceed the allocated $10,000, then the state will grant to the opposing candidate an amount equal to the excess [sec. 1].
