Title: Methamphetamine Lab Decontamination
Vote to pass a bill requiring property owners to clean up discovered methamphetamine labs.
- Requires the state Emergency Response Commission to establish standards for the decontamination of methamphetamine lab sites [§1.35-9-156(d)]. - Gives property owners 90 days to decontaminate their properties according to the Emergency Response Commission's standards once a law enforcement agency has notified her/him of the discovery of a methamphetamine lab [§1.35-9-159(d)]. -Allows the property owner to file for an extension if the owner is unable to complete decontamination within 90 days [§1.35-9-159(d)]. -Allows the reporting law enforcement agency to decontaminate the property if the property owner does not comply within the allotted time [§1.35-9-159(d)]. -Allows the state to claim reimbursement from property owners for clean up of methamphetamine lab sites [§1.35-9-157 and §1.35-9-159(b)].
