Vote to pass a bill that prohibits smoking or carrying of any lighted tobacco product in public places or places of employment.
Highlights:
-Excludes sleeping rooms in any hotel or lodging establishment in which the rooms are rented to guests and posted as smoking rooms (Sec. 5). -Excludes businesses that met the following requirements on January 1, 2009 and continue to meet them thereafter (Sec. 6):
- -At least 10 percent of gross income must be generated from cigar sales;
-A humidor must be on the premises; and
-A separate ventilation system must be present to prevent smoke from being recirculated into no-smoking areas.
