Vote to pass a bill that requires motorcycles to undergo smog checks.
Highlights:
-Requires that all motor vehicles powered by an internal combustion engine, including Class III motorcycles model years 2000 and newer, pass smog biennially (Sec. 2, 4). -Defines Class III motorcycles as "containing an engine with a displacement of 280 cubic centimeters or greater" (Sec. 4). -Mandates that the Bureau of Automotive Repair and the Air Resources Board implement procedures for emissions testing on motorcycles by July 1, 2011 (Sec. 4). -Requires the Department of Consumer Affairs to reimburse, up to $500, owners who retire their motorcycles as a result of a failed smog check (Sec. 5).
