Priority Issues:
Some legislative priorities for Jeff when he is elected to represent New York's 7th Congressional District (more details to come):
Expand and improve our housing so that New Yorker's do not have t0 spend all their hard-earned money on rent.
Reform our campaign finance laws so that Congress works for the people, not the corporations.
Stop tax inversions and other loopholes whereby corporations shelter billions of dollars overseas and avoid US taxes.
Build new schools, hire new teachers and pay our teachers more. Investing in education is our priority.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
eff is running for Congress because he believes that our United States Congress has become ineffective and out of touch. Most Americans believe Congress is broken because they know that big money controls the candidates and the elections. For too long now, corporations have been controlling the legislative agenda at the expense of the American people. It is time to elect sensible leaders who are not bound by financial campaign contributions from large corporations, big banks and other special interests. Our lawmakers need to be representing the needs of the people. Our elections must not be auctions.
