Priority Issues:
1) Never will Prisons get more funding than education. We need to invest in our future by providing the best education for our youth, not the best jail cell. Bills in Arizona have passed recently moving funds from education to Prisons and it makes very little sense to me.
2) If you're on welfare, unemployment or any other financial assistance that is not health related, you will volunteer your time 10 hours per week at an approved work program to get your benefits(Senior Center, Street Clean Up, Hospice, etc). Why not help out the community while the community helps you out.
3) A 2% state sales tax will be added to our normal state sales tax rate. This tax will be called the tourism tax. At the end of the year, every Arizona resident will get this 2% tax back when they file taxes. Ultimately, this is really just a tax charged to foreign and out of state visitors. Then that 2% tax is put into a general city account, with interest, and voted on each year by the people of each city to be put towards the wants and needs of the people(i.e. New roads, education, new parks, etc.).
4) Bring back half of our troops from wars that are not necessary. Take these troops and instead of patrolling the borders of Iraq & Afghanistan, they should be guarding and patrolling the border of the Arizona & Mexico. Walls don't work, troops do and they will have way more honor, enthusiasm and support on our own soil, protecting our own people and country.
