Priority Issues:

I have been very concerned over the last four years about the failed policies that Governor Brownback and Representative Bradford have implemented, and they have watched them fail again and again. These failed policies have resulted in a budget crisis for Kansas. As a result of the budget crisis, we haven't funded education, infrastructure (roads) and critical state services like public safety (prisons, highway patrol) and social services.

We have a responsibility to fund our schools adequately and fairly. Schools are the heartbeat of our communities in Kansas. Without great schools, positive growth for our communities will be hindered. Another important issue is providing fair wages and benefits for state employees. They are a great asset to Kansas, however, their wages do not meet a competitive living wage. The current tax plan needs to be overhauled, to ensure it is responsible, equitable and sustainable and works for the people of Kansas.
