What is the Political Courage Test?

Oregon State Legislative Election 2022 Political Courage Test

Pro-life a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes b) Do you support legalizing abortion when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
Yes c) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
Encourage life. Protect the weak from the strong. Also, who is your father? The position of fathers seems usually overlooked in the old and very uncomfortable decision about causing an untimely childbirth, a miscarriage. Rembrandt and Michelangelo left us dramatic paintings about the theme of acceptance, and Mario wrote in The Godfather how Luca feared - his only fear - of losing that of his crime boss, fearing rejection. In the film, only the cause of his fear was shown (seeing his mother involved in an abortion). So I encourage both mother AND father to accept and love life.
No a) In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions?
No b) DO you support raising taxes on any income or on any entity, to promote economic growth?
No c) Do you support raising corporate taxes to provide rebates to Oregon residents?
Limit government: Reduce total expenditures plus cuts by two for every one new statute, tax, regulation, executive mandate towards a prosperity condition of one public sector taxpayer for (supported by) every eleven private sector taxpayers. Certainly a challenge, filling the gap with personal responsibilities, and not to idolize numbers for meeting a condition.
Yes a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes b) Should an individual under 18 accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
Yes c) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
No d) Do you support the use of private prisons?
Yes e) Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
A free and prosperous society requires legal security and predictability, written in plain language, and public safety. But there is more to justice than law and order, impartiality and settling disputes in small claims court or retribution for stealing, murder and destruction: True and complete forgiveness with the conditions met, either earned or freely given according to Christian-Mosaic purposes of grace and law, that we might be restored, accepted, healed and have a life, after reconciliation with what is good.
No a) Do you support state government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes b) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector?
Yes c) Do you support requiring welfare applicants to pass a drug test in order to receive benefits?
No d) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage of Oregon?
Yes e) Do you support requiring employers to provide paid family leave?
Yes f) Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?

No a) Do you support adopting federal education standards in Oregon?
Yes b) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
Yes c) Do you support increasing teacher salaries AND/OR benefits in Oregon?
No d) Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from Oregon's high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
e) Other or expanded principles:
Yes a) Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
No b) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
Yes c) Do you support increasing state funding for clean drinking water initiatives?
d) Other or expanded principles:
No a) Do you support the regulation of campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals?
Yes b) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
Yes c) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
No d) Do you support automatic voter registration?
Judicial oversight was a disappointment to me when the recently redistricting in Oregon was appealed. It seemed to me Oregon's Supreme Court (OSC) approved a virtual map on a private server, instead of a tangible map which can't be manipulated, with political boundaries looking worse than a salamander. I still can't verify the exact boundaries of my precinct on a tangible/physical map. To restore judicial impartiality therefore, I 'd like the Oregon State Bar membership requirement statute repealed for OSC Justices.
No a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
No b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
No c) Should a license be required for gun ownership?
Our state constitution is even more specific than the basic law of our nation for the unconditional, guaranteed right of each American to bear arms and the why. Moreover, our state constitution begins with a larger bill of rights including: "The people shall have the right to bear arms for the defense of themselves, and the State, but the Military shall be kept in strict subordination to the civil power." Not some concession but in the first place, here in our wonderful state. I received good ratings from state and national constitutional rights organizations.
No a) Should the state government increase funding for treatment facilities to combat opioid abuse?
No b) Do you support a government-run (single-payer) healthcare program such as Medicare-for All?
c) Should an individual have the right to choose to die through euthanasia?
No d) Do you support eliminating religious exemptions for vaccinations?
Yes e) Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave opportunities?
No f) Do you support lowering the cost of prescription drugs?
No g) Do you support access to affordable healthcare being a constitutional right in Oregon?
A healthy population is of national interest, but government-controlled healthcare not. Our choices make a difference. Being able to trust a diagnosis for making good decisions about your body with your licensed medical practitioner. Disclosure of a disease versus its symptoms without licentiousness or being motivated by greed, though money is important as well. Transparency about other options. Medical oversight be limited to protection of property boundaries (your body) and compliance of patient-physician relationship with the law concerning two or three witnesses for establishing the matter. A second opinion over a second guess for informed consent. Protection from government-sanctioned cults.
No a) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Oregon's anti-discrimination laws?
No b) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Oregon's anti-discrimination laws?
No c) Do you support greater efforts by Oregon state government in closing gender, racial and other wage gaps?
I'd like to see all protected classes statutes abolished because we have equal rights under the basic law of our nation already. The creation of protected classes statutes produced arbitrariness, reversed discrimination and idolization, instead of justice with mercy.
Let's pursue freedom and justice with LESS government: -Assert constitutional rights over infringement, effectively maintain separation of powers over usurpation for control, and give legal security and predictability over arbitrariness and chaos. Freedom is not a problem. Let our flag fly! -Honor the rule of law. Give laws that are impartial, constitutional, enforceable, without infringement on rights, or room for licentious behavior. Permit nobody above the law, but give everybody freedom from lawlessness.
-Limit government: Reduce total expenditures plus cuts by two for every one new statute, tax, regulation, executive mandate towards a prosperity condition of one public sector taxpayer for (supported by) every eleven private sector taxpayers. Certainly a challenge, filling the gap with personal responsibilities, and not to idolize numbers for meeting a condition.
