What is the Political Courage Test?

Arkansas Congressional Election 2020 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Before Roe v Wade, Arkansas had it about right. A doctor could be charged for performing an abortion, but a woman could not be charged.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
Our problem is waste, fraud and abuse. No tax increases are necessary if we stop the waste and prosecute the fraud and abuse. No amount of new taxes will solve our problem until we stop waste, fraud and abuse.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
No Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
As long as politicians and their employees can act with impunity, there is no way to hold them legally accountable for their official actions.
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
The legitimate defense of our country can be accomplished with less money than we currently spend. Too much of the "defense" budget is spent to interfere with other country's internal affairs and to carry out constitutionally suspect wars.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
Financial relief in the form of tax rebates and reductions is appropriate.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
The Constitution is clear that individuals have the right to "keep and bear" guns for their personal defense and defense of the country from foreign and domestic threats. Until the Constitution is changed, there can be no law to limit that right.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
No Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
A wall seems an inefficient way to insure that dangerous individuals don't enter the country. If the immigrant is not a danger to the country or its residents, then we should not keep them out.
No Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Yes Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
Yes Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
Tariffs are nothing but a tax on U. S. citizens.
An end to hyper-partisan politics will make sane fiscal and foreign policies easier to implement. Because of their hatred for each other, the old parties are spending us into bankruptcy and offending the international community. A third way is needed.
