New Jersey State Legislative Election 2017 Political Courage Test

Pro-life a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes b) Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
Yes c) Should abortion be legal when the life of the woman is endangered?
Yes d) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
As a Christian I personally am opposed to any kind of abortion. I am 100% against partial birth abortions. I however do believe that Pro-life & Pro-choice could agree on a compromise that would stop this. Make rape, incest and mothers health exceptions. Also no abortions after 8 weeks. That should be enough time to know.

1) Budget Stabilization:Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing New Jersey's budget.

No a) Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions
No b) Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees
No c) Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients
No d) An income tax increase on any tax bracket
I believe an audit done would find waste of funds and would reduce the debt. I believe we stop paying for things that are not needed. I also would look to reduce the size of government.

a) Do you support limits on the following types of contributions for state candidates?

Yes 1) Individual
Yes 2) Political Action Committee
Yes 3) Corporate
Yes 4) Political Party
Yes b) Do you support requiring full and timely disclosure of campaign finance information?
Yes c) Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Yes d) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
Yes e) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
I would like to see money not be a factor in who gets elected. I believe if we made a general account that any contributions were made they would be equally divided among all candidates.
Yes a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes b) Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders, such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
Yes c) Do you support legalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana?
No d) Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
Yes e) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
Yes f) Do you support delaying the seizure of assets by law enforcement officials until after a conviction?
I believe charging a minor must be case by case basis. They should be testing done to decide if child meets the requirements. I do not think government should be able to seize property without conviction.
No a) Do you support government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes b) Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes c) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector?
Yes d) Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits?
No e) Do you support requiring welfare applicants to pass a drug test in order to receive benefits?
Yes f) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage?
Yes g) Do you support legalized state-sponsored sports betting in New Jersey?
No h) Do you support a tax on short-term housing rentals in New Jersey?
I would support a cap on welfare benefits. I would support a raise in minimum wage but not higher than $10 hr. I am opposed to any new taxes until we control the waste of government spending. I believe we should work on reducing property taxes. Homers who make their homes nicer should not be penalized for doing so.
No a) Do you support the national Common Core State Standards initiative?
Yes b) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
No c) Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from New Jersey high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities in New Jersey?
I believe any illegal should not receive any state aid. We have a nation illegal immigrant problem. I am against any call for sanctuary city or state. That is prohibited by law (USC1324). If elected I would seek to enforce this law against any one who breaks it.
No a) Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No b) Do you support state funding for open space preservation?
No c) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
We must stop spending money we do not have for things that can be done through private sector.
No a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Yes b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yes c) Should citizens be allowed to carry concealed guns?
Yes d) Should a license be required for gun possession?
I believe and support the 2nd amendment. I have no issues with back ground checks. But if no criminal record you should be able to buy a hand gun or rifle without any restrictions other than passing back ground check.
No a) Do you support a universally-accessible, publicly-administered health insurance option?
No b) Do you support Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
No c) Do you support requiring individuals to purchase health care insurance?
Yes d) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes?
I believe health care is a privilege and not a right. I would look to work on the plan by Dr. Josh Umbehr of Kansas. and have that brought here.
Yes a) Do you support same-sex marriage?
Yes b) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in New Jersey's anti-discrimination laws?
Yes c) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in New Jersey's anti-discrimination laws?
I believe any one should be able to live how they want with who they want. I do not believe people should be force to participate in something they are morally against. As a Christian I personally do not agree with homosexuality but as an American I support every ones right to live as they want as long as it does not violate the law.
I would like to see the reduction in income and state taxes. I would like to conduct audits in the transportation and education funding area's. I would like to see open and conceal carry become legal as long as you can pass back ground check. I would like to see education funding straighten out.
