Texas Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I was raised Catholic and therefore, personally, my family and I would rather support adoption but I believe that the state nor the federal goverment should get involved in very difficult family decissions. I am Pro-choice and support current law.
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Unknown Position In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
Middle Class Americans are always asked to pay for the bills. Upper class American should share in the responsibility of running our Country and therefore, share in the tax burdens to make up a more perfect union and to bring economic upward mobility to those in the middle and lower class trying to move up.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I believe in the goverment of and by the people. I think Congress needs to work on the issue of PACs. They are damaging our democracy.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Unknown Position Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
The theory of tricled down economics has never worked in the United States.
Yes Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
If we are to compete nationally and internationnaly for jobs, then, education standards should be national. However, the actual education, itself, should be managed and monitored at the local levels. Teachers should be paid for the hard work that they do...
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Our nation moves forward and continues to be the beacon of light for the world by setting a great example and doing what we can to preserve our planet for future generations.
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Reasonable gun laws, to protect the life of US citizens, is reasonable. We don't allow a car on the roads without liability insurance as a minimum.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
All health insurance, at present, is loved and working fairly well (Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, Chips, OBAMA Care and private). Congress needs to work to bridge the gap and bring all citizens into the pool via the expansion of these programs.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Do not play games with our DACA children. Mexican migration to US is virtually none. Their economy is growing at 4% and better than ours. We never talked about Canadian walls, yet some of the 9/11 terrorirst came in airplanes and in cars from the Canadian border....The Republicans are worry about "dark skin" migrants...shame..shame.
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
There is a need for education for expecting mothers since we don't know the unintended consequences of using these products on the fetus. We need laws on marijuana and driving...which should be illegal.
Yes Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
Use of military force with the concent of Congress (a representative goverment) and only when there is an emminent danger to our National Security and or our Citizens.
1. Health Care for all: sliding scare based on income and supported by Federal and State goverments for low income families. 2. Jobs: Needed for country side, where there is a need for jobs and health care. Funds can come from the expansion of the electric grid repairs and new lines, high speed internet jobs needed in the country side to be paid by the Large corporate giants like AT@T, Comcast, Verison, Non-profits. 3. The care and benefits for our seniors and veterans: Benefits earned by seniors and veterans need to be respected
