This candidate has responded to a Political Courage Test in a previous election. As a continued effort to provide the American public with factual information on candidates running for public office, these archived responses are made available here.
Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
As I am former military (USAF). I know that there is a tremendous amount of waste which can be found and eliminated without affecting our military mission.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
America's corporate taxes are some of the highest in the word. It's no wonder that businesses move elsewhere.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Federal government involvement in education has increased it's cost and decreased the desired results.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Renewable energy is a private sector issue.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
ANY gun control legislation is an "infringement." If America believes that it is necessary, the Constitution must be amended...FIRST!
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
EVERY person I know has had their medical costs skyrocket and their choices reduced.
Yes Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
The wall is merely a metaphor. Technology currently exists to control the border without the need of a physical wall for the entire border.
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
There was an Amendment to the Constitution for banning the recreational use of alcohol. The Constitution is silent on a Federal ban. If the states want to ban it, the 10th Amendment gives them that right.
No Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
The middle east has ALWAYS been and will ALWAYS be in conflict. America should recognize that we are powerless to do anything about it.
First, immediately stop the 22 Veteran suicides occurring every day. School shootings are a tragedy that gets continued media coverage. There is zero coverage of this DAILY tragedy that is multiples larger than school shootings. Second, stop the deficit spending. The government borrows 42 cents of every dollar it spends. The interest on the debt is more than the entire budget of many necessary government programs. This, at a time of record low interest rates and record tax receipts to the treasury. Should interest rates return to historical norms, we will default and end up like Venezuela
